03-05-09 We have all been very nervous waiting on Noble’s first foal and thanks to my good friends, Vicki and Mike McCullough of M-BarV Quarter Horse’s / Mares in Waiting, he’s here! Noble lost her 2008 foal so we sent her to the “experts” Vicki and Mike. They have a great program and my results of live foals with them over the years has been 100%! As much money as we tie up in these foals it’s a good investment to send the mares to Vicki and Mike…..
This colt is by World Champion, CRS Golden Nugget, who is owned by Dan Chicola of Landlock Equine. I went by Dan’s farm yesterday and all the “Nugget” babies had the same doll head this colt has. I really believe Dan has got him a real breeding horse in “Nugget”. I also got to see Mr Dun Promised, his other World Champion stallion, that our mare, Conclusive Cinnamon, is bred to. I’m equally excited about that cross. Dan has built a breeding program, in a short period of time, that I think is as good as any in our industry right now. Congratulations on all your success Dan!
Although you can see from the pictures he’s small and a little under weight, I can tell he’s going to be a good one! This has been about a ten year attempt to try and get Noble all the way to term and now she has. For you breeders out there, you know it’s extremly gratifying to not give up on a mare you truly love and for it to pay off with a healthy baby.
